Danny's remains were found by hikers on Friday, July 26th. The full story was published on a local Bend Oregon website. It can be found at Bend.com . This picture is the last taken of Danny by his brother Cavin just before he climbed the mountain.

Danny is the oldest of four children of Dan and Mary Ann Curran of Springfield, Pennsylvania. In addition to his brother, with whom he was traveling around the U.S., he has two sisters, Biz who graduated from Penn State in the Spring and Kate, who is currently attending Penn State University.

Services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi, Rolling Road and Saxer Avenue, Springfield. Calling hours will be 9:00 - 11:00 a.m on Friday, August 9, 2002 at the church. The Burial Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m.

Dear Friends,

We have tried to write this note so many times only to find that there are no words to adequately express our gratitude to all of you. We are so thankful for the thoughts, prayers, notes, food, flowers, e-mails, and for your extremely generous donations to the Search & Rescue Fund for Danny. It is you who have been our strength and support through this sad time. It is you who have helped us get through each day.

For those of you who never got to know Danny, he was an amazing, adventurous spirit and he was good and kind and gentle. He had a smile that could light up a room and a sense of humor and caring that made people gravitate to him. At times he could drive his family crazy but mainly we were proud of the man he had become. It seems inconceivable that we will never see him again. But Danny loved to climb and hike the mountains and he found great challenge as well as joy and peace there. He was doing what he loved to do and he was happy.

Our family is so appreciative for all that you have done and been for us. We have wonderful memories of Danny and we will keep him in our minds and hearts always and we ask that you keep him in your prayers. We thank God for the time we had with Danny and we thank God for the many wonderful friends He has given us.
